When neighboring countries blockaded Qatar in 2017 and cut off its milk supply, the country flew in about 4,000 dairy cows by cargo plane. It took dozens of flights, the cows were housed in air conditioned barns in the desert, and within a year Qatar was producing enough milk to export.
