Crazy but True
The Yemeni island of Socotra looks like it belongs to another planet. Roughly a third of its plant species exist nowhere else on Earth, including the dragon's blood tree, which grows shaped like an upturned umbrella and bleeds red sap. Yemen's mainland also has Shibam, a city of 16th century mudbrick towers up to eleven stories tall.
