Crazy but True
Afghanistan's Band-e-Amir is a chain of six deep blue lakes held back by natural dams of mineral rock, formed as carbon dioxide rich water deposited travertine over thousands of years. The dams look manmade but built themselves. It became Afghanistan's first national park in 2009.
